Key Achievements & Experience in Quality Education Program

TVMC in Shinyanga has played a key role in improving access to quality education for underserved groups. Through strategic partnerships and grassroots initiatives, TVMC has made significant progress in promoting inclusive and equitable education across 8 schools (4 primary and 4 secondary) in Shinyanga Municipality. The program focuses on increasing access to quality education for all children, while also raising community awareness about the importance of timely school enrollment, particularly for those at risk of dropping out. TVMC has established 16 school-based clubs, known as TUSEME Youth Clubs, within the project schools. These clubs serve as safe spaces where girls receive information and support on gender issues, guidance and counseling, sexual and reproductive health education, sanitation and menstrual hygiene, and protection from violence. These efforts have had a measurable impact: school dropout rates have dropped from 186 to just 31 students per year across the eight schools, while cases of teenage pregnancy among female students have declined from 36 annually to just 1 or 2.

Key Achievements & Experience in Quality Poverty Reduction.
